Our voices are influential in today’s generation. Don’t belittle our capacity.
Let us show our potentials. Never limit our expectations. Let reality open our horizons, and be the strength and backbone of our country.
We, the young people wants to express our ideas, our visions, shout our freedom to express our feelings without hesitations and judgments. Hearing our voices can change and open the minds of younger generation, today’s generation and others.
Adults should bear in mind that teenagers are impressionable and, as such, they tend to adopt their behavioral standards from what is obtainable in their households. Effective communication between parents and their children will help reduce some of the perceived pressures which cause students to act violently; also, proper monitoring of the association that children/wards keep is a means through which the problem of school violence can be solved. Parents may also seek professional advice regarding the type of video games and television programs that children should be exposed to.
Imagine a world where teenagers were given all the freedom they wanted and that there was no guidance for them nor were parented properly. It is important that parents stay involved and connected. They should talk and listen to their children. Know their friends, their school or college experience, and what their world is like. If teenagers were given the freedom they wanted, then parents would loose control of them and they would not even talk to them. It is essential that teens have their own private space, away from the constant scrutiny and criticism of adults, where they can do what they want as long as it does not involve any of the consequences mentioned above and that they are monitored. It is not only good for teens, but also for adults. Allowing teens to have some control of their life lets them know they are important and valued. Obviously teenagers will make mistakes, like everyone else does.
But too much freedom can easily backfire, leaving a teen floundering. Although teens might be reluctant to admit it, they still need the stability that parental authority can offer.
Although the expectations of their parents, sometimes, are have
good intentions, the persons peers and those that abhor them try
to micromanage them in the wrong direction. As a result, these
weaken minded people spend their life following others. It’s
obvious that they must take a stand for themselves, or they’ll
waste their one and only chance at living.
Besides the previous statement, teens should not follow
other people’s expectations as they may not be in their best
interest.
To add on this, the teen has more than enough to juggle on daily basis including extracurricular activities, loads of homework and a social life to cover. All in the name of getting good grades. Study shows that the intense pressure may backfire and the result is social, physical and emotional stress.
